Here's what we made for lunch on Saturday in the house. They were basically amazing.

We did so much this week, and it went by super fast. Read all about it.

Here's me taking some cold mate, and then me and Elder Jardon together taking some cold mate.

Apparently our house looks real comfortable to creatures as well. We've been finding a lot of creepy crawlies, and they don't even try to hide at his point. The scorpion was chilling in the living room, and the spider was on the wall watching Elder Matsen study.

Watermelons are now 300 pesos. I love Chile.

This is one of the really big peaches that Memo gave us from his work. The picture doesn't even do it justice. And here's Turkey neck that we ate this week. Yes, from the same lady that gave us chicken heart, lungs, and liver a few weeks ago. And no, it was not any better than the assorted organs. :(

On Sunday night we went to the Jerez house and made a pizza. It was surprisingly good for coming out of a chilean oven.

The primary at a branch activity we had. They really like cupcakes.

1/5/2015

Memo came over on Wednesday with his tractor from his work, and we piled up as much stuff from the old house as we could, and then drove it through town to the other house, with me and Elder Almeida hanging onto everything so it didn't fall off.

This is the lunch that Memo's wife made us on the 31st. The soup thing is called casuela, and it was SOOOOOO good. She also made a really colorful vegetable salad, and a poroto salad (The things that look like green beans kind of).

Here's a little summary of what we did this week. It went by really fast, and we had a lot of fun. I'm gonna flood your inboxes with pictures now; I took a whole bunch this week.

For breakfast I eat like 50% smoothies 50% oatmeal/mate, which is kind of like a tea thing, look up "mate south america".  Here's a pic.

Can't have a Chilean Christmas without a barbecue.

12/22/14

The grapes are growing. And Memo planted some zapallo italiano (I think it's zuchinni) and they're almost ready! He's pretty excited.

The other day it looked like there was a fire in the sky.

I made a list of things to tell you during the week and here's what I've got.

1. You guys need to start learning Spanish right now as a family. You've got 1.5 years, and then I'll come home and refine what you know to Chilean Spanish. I want to come to Chile as a family for Christmas break of 2016.

2. Claudio, the guy who sends you pictures of me, is a convert. And the missionary who baptized him is the SON OF THE OWNERS OF DOTERRA. Holy crap. The world is so small. His name is Chase. Freaking crazy.

3. Can you guys log into my I made a list of things to tell you during the week and here's what I've got.

4. It's time to start thinking about some new shoes...

5. I make really good doughnuts.

6. So Chase, Claudio's missionary, told Claudio that doterra is coming to chile.

7. Can I have the recipe for french toast? and one for pancakes?

8. And in the next package can you throw in some more lavender? Thanks.

¡BAUTISMO!

It's kind of a big deal, because this doesn't really happen a lot here in Chile.

It's Been Awhile

I've neglected in posting Elder Hamilton's letters and pictures because my life just got too busy.  I've made some changes and now I have a little more time, so I'm going to do my best to get this blog caught up.

December 1, 2014

This week was pretty crazy, and it felt really weird to kill Elder Dunmire. Also, we went to Santa Cruz today to play futbol with our zone before changes tomorrow, and on the way home, we were all sleeping because we had just played futbol for a few hours in the sun. And then a tire blew and everything started shaking and it was crazy. I'm sure it wasn't that crazy, but when something like that wakes you up, it feels like the end of the world. So yeah, read all about my week here.

Haha, in Santa Cruz I was talking to my ZLs about my new comp, and they told me that I'm gonna learn a butt load of patience from him. So we'll see what happens I guess. Apparently he's been kind of problematic in the past and doesn't get along very well with his comps. Woo hoo!!!!!

Memo's a stud. I just got off the phone with him literally 5 seconds ago. I'm glad I get to pass Chistmas here with them. And yeah, anytime we talk about asados, his eyes get all big and he gets all excited.

Can you send me an awesome/easy donut recipe? I need to show these chileans what they're missing out on.

Here's a picture of the as ado we had with Memo on Saturday afternoon.
It was raining super hard all day, but for Memo, nothing stops an asado.
