Apparently our house looks real comfortable to creatures as well. We've been finding a lot of creepy crawlies, and they don't even try to hide at his point. The scorpion was chilling in the living room, and the spider was on the wall watching Elder Matsen study.
Watermelons are now 300 pesos. I love Chile.
This is one of the really big peaches that Memo gave us from his work. The picture doesn't even do it justice. And here's Turkey neck that we ate this week. Yes, from the same lady that gave us chicken heart, lungs, and liver a few weeks ago. And no, it was not any better than the assorted organs. :(
On Sunday night we went to the Jerez house and made a pizza. It was surprisingly good for coming out of a chilean oven.
The primary at a branch activity we had. They really like cupcakes.

Memo came over on Wednesday with his tractor from his work, and we piled up as much stuff from the old house as we could, and then drove it through town to the other house, with me and Elder Almeida hanging onto everything so it didn't fall off.
Here's a little summary of what we did this week. It went by really fast, and we had a lot of fun. I'm gonna flood your inboxes with pictures now; I took a whole bunch this week.
For breakfast I eat like 50% smoothies 50% oatmeal/mate, which is kind of like a tea thing, look up "mate south america". Here's a pic.

This is the lunch that Memo's wife made us on the 31st. The soup thing is called casuela, and it was SOOOOOO good. She also made a really colorful vegetable salad, and a poroto salad (The things that look like green beans kind of).

The grapes are growing. And Memo planted some zapallo italiano (I think it's zuchinni) and they're almost ready! He's pretty excited.
The other day it looked like there was a fire in the sky.

I made a list of things to tell you during the week and here's what I've got.
1. You guys need to start learning Spanish right now as a family. You've got 1.5 years, and then I'll come home and refine what you know to Chilean Spanish. I want to come to Chile as a family for Christmas break of 2016.
2. Claudio, the guy who sends you pictures of me, is a convert. And the missionary who baptized him is the SON OF THE OWNERS OF DOTERRA. Holy crap. The world is so small. His name is Chase. Freaking crazy.
3. Can you guys log into my I made a list of things to tell you during the week and here's what I've got.
8. And in the next package can you throw in some more lavender? Thanks.
4. It's time to start thinking about some new shoes...
5. I make really good doughnuts.
6. So Chase, Claudio's missionary, told Claudio that doterra is coming to chile.
7. Can I have the recipe for french toast? and one for pancakes?

¡BAUTISMO!
¡BAUTISMO!
It's kind of a big deal, because this doesn't really happen a lot here in Chile.
Claudio, a convert of 3 years that got off his mission a year ago, just got a dog.
It's a chow chow that has less than three months. It has a purple toungue, and
it's really awesome. He enjoys chilling in the bike basket during his free time.
This was our branch Christmas party we had on saturday.
We all pitched in $2000 and we had a pretty nice dinner.
So I made the doughnuts this morning, and I eventually figured out that the smaller
they are, they faster and better they cook. So I ended up with over 100 doughnuts.
So I took like 50 of them to our zone activity today (we played volleyball and I killed it)
and everyone loved them. Can you send me a recipe for french toast? I want to make
french toast for breakfast on Christmas.
Thanks!
Also, the next time you send me a package, can you send me some measuring cups?
I have literally
looked everywhere in my zone for measuring cups and have found them nowhere.
I need like all the measurements from fractions od a teaspoon to like a cup.
That would be awesome. I made my own measuring cup using my Nalgene
bottle to measure out amounts of water and then mark a glass cup that is now my
measuring cup, but I would love some measuring utensils of my very own haha. Also,
sunscreen makes white shirts yellow faster. I wear my short sleeve shirts a lot more
now, but I still have quite a few that I haven't even touched yet. Also, can you send
me a little set of fine screwdrivers? Like pretty dang small. I can't find any anywhere
in Chile, and they would be super useful.
Thanks!

1. Do people decorate for Christmas there? Lights, nativity sets, tree, stockings, etc?
Yeah, they try to decorate for Christmas here. I joke around with all the Chileans
that their decorations don't match the season, but they just tell me it's what's in
the stores. They basically have the same stuff we do, but just a lot less of it.
2. Is toilet paper the same there?
No. It basically sucks. I guess there is one good brand, but it would be more
effective to use straight up money to clean yourself.
3. Have you used any oils lately and if so, what and how?

I gave memo the tube of Deep Blue rub this morning. He was carpel tunnel and
his wrists hurt pretty bad. A lot of people get carpel tunnel here because they all
do repetetive movements all day on the campo for their job.
4. Have you played for the primary program yet and how did it turn out?
How many primary kids are in your branch?
Yeah, Elder Dunmire and I played a few weeks ago, and it was pretty cool.
There are like 6-11 primary kids I think,
5. Are the primary songs the same as in the states?

They're basically the same. They totally sound better in English though haha.
It's Been Awhile
I've neglected in posting Elder Hamilton's letters and pictures because my life just got too busy. I've made some changes and now I have a little more time, so I'm going to do my best to get this blog caught up.
